NALM Review of Goverment Comprehensive spending review - 08/12/2010

LG Group key messages

Local government has had some of the biggest cuts in the public sector.
Town halls will now face extremely tough choices about which services they can keep on running.

Adult social care will receive an extra £1 billion in grant funding by the
fourth year of the Spending Review and a further £1 billion will be made
available for adult social care through the NHS to support joint working
between social care and health.

Supporting People will receive £6 billion over four years.

The rules surrounding the mobility and care elements of the Disability

Living Allowance for claimants in residential care will be aligned to
generate savings.
